Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has called on
Nigerians “to use their sense of humanity” and pray for President Muhammadu
Buhari.
Tambuwal said they should also cooperate with the president,
saying such disposition would be for their collective interest.
He made the call when the Conference of Nigeria Political
Parties (CNPP), Northern zone, in the course of its administrative tour to the
19 Northern states and the FCT, paid him a courtesy visit in Sokoto.
In a statement issued by the chairman, Northern chapter of
CNPP, Alhaji Umar Faruq Ibrahim, the Sokoto governor appealed to Nigerians to
resist what he called “manipulation through fake, speculative news,
misinformation and disinformation.”
He said: “We must co-exist peacefully and be our brothers
and sisters’ keepers. This is critical because crisis prone areas affect
investors’ confidence. The ripple consequence of this is stunted development;
hence we need to support this government so that the agenda of accelerated and
sustained socio-economic development will be entrenched.”
Ibrahim, in his remark, commended Tambuwal for his
non-partisanship in governance by carrying opposition political parties along.
