Bauchi Patients get N3.7m From Dogara, Other Law makers

The Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and other lawmakers have donated the sum of 3.7 million to patients at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital ( ATBUTH) Bauchi.

They made the donation Friday when the Speaker paid a sympathy visit to patients at the hospital in Bauchi.

He sympathised with patients and staff of the hospital over the lack of adequate medical facilities in the health centres especially in a period when the country was coming out of economic recession.

Dongara described health as the foundation of wealth, adding that due to economic challenges people were finding it difficult to pay their medical bills which he said prompted them to visit the hospital and give helping hands to patients.

The Speaker made a personal donation of N1.2 million to some of the patients which included; 20 cancer patients, some Kidney ailment patients and a police officer who was recently shot by his colleague.
