Traditional Ruler Kidnapped, Abductors Demand N20m

According to reports on naij.com, some gunmen have kidnapped a Kogi state traditional ruler, a source said on Sunday, January 1.

The source said Isah Achuja who is the Ohi of Ajaokuta was kidnapped along Lokoja-Ajaokuta road at gun point.

Achuja was said to be returning from Lokoja, Kogi state capital on Saturday when the incident occurred.

A member of Achuja family said the traditional ruler was taken to an unknown location and that his abductors are demanding a ransom of N20 million be he can be freed.

Meanwhile, the Kogi state command spokesperson Williams Aya said the incident was yet to be reported to the police.

Aya, however, promised that the police would immediately swing into action to rescue the traditional ruler from his abductors.
