Read What Victor Umeh Said on His New Year Message

2017 NEW YEAR MESSAGE OF HOPE AND ASSURANCE...FROM CHIEF SIR (DR) VICTOR C. UMEH OFR (OHAMADIKE NDIGBO).

I thank Almighty God whom in His infinite mercy has made us to see this year of divine manifestation 2017. I thank God for the just ended year of 2016 and shall not hesitate to state that last year was more or less a very challenging one indeed for all of us.

I want to ask God to grant eternal rest to all those who started with us this journey in 2016 but could not join us to see the beginning of this year 2017, more particularly my immediate younger sister, Mrs Modesta Adaku Alado (JP), who was with me throughout my campaigns starting from 2014 and had to bow to death on the 19th of March 2016. I pray that God will show her mercy and receive her soul in paradise...Amen!

For all of us, last year 2016 was a very challenging year for both my Senatorial District for which am making every effort to represent at the Senate, Anambra people, particularly the Igbo people in Nigeria and Nigerians in general. It was indeed very challenging but I thank God that we all survived the year 2016.

I sincerely commit this year 2017 unto the hands of God Almighty, that He will continue to guide, bless, Shepherd and protect us from any forms of anxiety, hardship and more importantly, that God shall grant us good friendship with people who are well meaning around all of us and the good people of my Senatorial district and Ndigbo in general.

In this year 2017, we are hopeful and looking forward to having a better Nigeria where our people will come out of the recession and Nigerians from all parts will have renewed hope and confidence in our dear country. I pray for an improved tidings in all ramifications and for general progress and well-being of the good people of our country Nigeria.

For my Senatorial District that has been beleaguered with litigations, preventing us from having a Senator to represent us at the National Assembly as a Senator, I humbly pray that God will intervene in His mercies to ensure that all those frivolous litigations are dispensed with dispatch, so that the election will be conducted and our people will have a reliable and consistent person who will stand to speak for them at the Senate.

I also use this opportunity to sue for continued patience and peace because what is preventing our Senatorial election is something that is unavoidable. The litigations are going on because we would not want any illegal thing to take place in Anambra Central. It is said that anything good doesn't come so easy! On this note, I urge our people to be patient, believing that in the next six months at most, we must have been through with all these processes and our people will have a Senator representing the zone at this 8th session of the National Assembly.

For those who are constituting themselves as obstacles to the wheels of progress, I advise that they submit themselves to the rule of law and to the final authority of the courts that have jurisdiction over the matter. What they are doing has no chance of survival in law, and they should be able to search their conscience and be able to appreciate that the people of Anambra Central are being denied representation at the Senate thus, losing quite a lot.

For those who think they can never accept what God has ordained, I humbly pray that God will grant them the grace to accept what they cannot change. What God says shall continue to prevail in our lives and when people begin to fight what God had ordained to happen, they will be endangering their future. I urge them to search themselves the way they have been acting. Anybody who knows the truth and decides to fight it, shall have a day of reckoning.

I bear no malice and grudge towards anybody. I have chosen to be resilient in going through this process, knowing that there is no alternative in building a better society than being law abiding and accepting the Will of Almighty God in our lives and doing things that will not jeopardize and undermine the well being of my people.

I wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year of 2017. May God be our helper in all our undertakings.

Remember that in this 2017, apart from the Senatorial election of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone which is outstanding, we are going to face and witness another Governorship election in the State. I want to use this medium and opportunity to ask our people to continue to support and vote the party that has changed our story line in Anambra State. That party is APGA, and I still have total confidence and conviction that this party will redeem our lost opportunities as a people. Let us be steadfast and continue to stand by and believe in APGA. We should not make any mistake. When the Governorship election comes this year and our party wins the election, Anambra State will continue to blaze the trail. The Governor has done well and that is the reason why we are saying that APGA is the vehicle for all good things that will happen to our people politically.

Thank you and God bless.
