Manchester City walloped 10-man Premier League title rivals,
Liverpool 5-0 on Saturday.
This was Jurgen Klopp’s heaviest defeat in all competitions
as Liverpool manager and his joint-heaviest ever managerial loss (lost 1-6 with
Mainz vs Werder Bremen in October 2006).
Sadio Mane was sent off eight minutes before half-time for a
high challenge on Ederson that left City’s keeper requiring lengthy treatment
for facial injuries before he was replaced by Claudio Bravo.
Liverpool had started the brighter but found themselves
behind as Sergio Aguero rounded Simon Mignolet and slotted in.
Gabriel Jesus added a second shortly after Mane’s red before
Aguero teed his strike partner up for another.
Aguero set up Jesus for his second after the break before
substitute Leroy Sane added two late goals to give City their biggest win over
Liverpool since 1937.
Man of the match was Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City.
