Cristiano Ronaldo has told Real Madrid manager, Zinedine
Zidane, that he is ‘treated like a criminal’ in Spain and that is why he wants
to leave.
Ronaldo is accused of tax fraud amounting to £13million and
has reportedly made an ‘irreversible’ decision to leave the Bernabeu this
summer.
Zidane spoke with Ronaldo over the weekend, to try and talk
him into staying at Los Blancos, with the 32-year-old away on international
duty at the Confederations Cup.
But according to Spanish radio station COPE, Ronaldo told
his boss: “In Spain I am treated like a criminal. It starts with the media.”
The former Manchester United forward has reportedly
instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to broker a move back to Old Trafford, with
United’s Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said to be plotting a £175million
deal which would also see David De Gea finally seal his move to the Spanish
capital.
