The Senate has confirmed 15 out of the 27 nominees of
President Muhammadu Buhari as Resident Electoral Commissioners of the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The confirmation was sequel to the approval of the report of
the Senate Commitee on INEC chaired by Senator Suleiman Nazif (APC, Bauchi
North).
Those confirmed are Professor Godswill Obioma (Abia), James
Apam (Benue),Nkwachukwu Orji (Ebonyi), Illoh Joseph Chuks (Enugu), Nentawe
Goshwe Yilwatda (Plateau), Umar Ibrahim (Taraba), Emeka Ononamadu Joseph
(Imo), Ibrahim Abdullahi (Adamawa), Obo Effanga (Cross
River), Francis Ezeonu (Anambra) and Briyai Frankland (Baylesa).
Others are; Agboke Mutiu Olaleke (Ogun), Hussaini Halilu Pai
(FCT), Ahmad Makama (Bauchi) and Sadiq Abubakar Musa (Kaduna).
