The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has
reinstated screening points and detecting machines at the airport to forestall
the resurgence of Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.
The measure was triggered by the outbreak of Ebola in the
Democratic Republic of Congo.
FAAN’s acting General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs
Henrietta Yakubu, assured passengers and airport users of safety at the
nation’s airports.
She said all measures adopted in 2014 to curtail the dreaded
virus is very much in place and has been fortified.
It would be recalled that Ebola was introduced to Nigeria in
July 2014 by a Liberian diplomat, Patrick Sawyer.
Yakubu said there is no outbreak of Ebola in Nigeria or at
any Nigerian airport, urging passengers and airport users to go about their
business activities without fear.
