The state government is willing to associate with any group that will improve on the health of Ndi Anambra, The was stated by the Hon Commissioner for Health Dr Joe Akabuike, when the state signed MOU with sub recipient of Global funding !Centre for Health Education Economic Rehabilitation and Social Security (CHEERS)on Hiv management and other services in his Jerome Udorji's Secretariat Awka.
Dr Joe Akabuike expressed his joy over step taken by CHEERS to support the state in making sure that residents know their Hiv/Aids status free of charge and also provided with retroviral drugs if tested positive
Dr Akabuike in speech said that the State is making frantic effort to reduce the viral load that facilitate transmission by making sure that people that have Hiv live their normal lives without infecting others hence The importance of this MOU.
The permanent Secretary Dr Okwuchukwu Chukwuka also commended the group and promised that the state through the Health Minstry will support them to achieve their aim in the state.
The executive Director CHEERS Hajia Ogugua who is an indigene of Anambra State appreciated the state government for the opportunity given to her group to work in the State ,she assures that they will move to all facilities and will do the needful and work towards ending Hiv by 2020.She also said that by the time they will achieve their aim God's willing that The state will appreciate them and the I Global Funding that gives them support
