Minna International Airport on Friday experienced heavy traffic as dozens of private jets taxed into the tarmac with VIPs from across the country who arrived the Niger state capital for the wedding of former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida’s daughter, Halima.
Among the dignitaries were former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience whose jet with registration number N717 AL taxed into the tarmac at about 12.15 pm.
He was received at the Airport by the Niger state Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state and Ahmed Muhammad Kesto, Niger’s Deputy Governor.
Others who flew into Minna for the wedding on private jets include All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader and former Governor of Lagos, Ahmed Tinubu, Former Vice President Namadi Sambo, Senate delegation led by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, as well as other dignitaries.
Sheik Habibu Wushishi, the Iman of Wushishi central mosque, joined the couple after the payment of bride price of N500,000 cash and ten cows by the family of the groom, led by the Governor of Gombe state, Alhaji Ibrahim Dangwambo, who stood in as the father of the groom.
