The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar
has said the Nigerian Air Force conducts daily missions to locate and rescue
the Chibok girls still in captivity.
Addressing journalists on Friday shortly after a special
Juma’at prayer to kickstart activities for the 53rd anniversary of the Air
Force, Abubakar said the service is passionate about rescuing the Chibok girls.
He said, “There is no day that the sun rises and sets that
we do not go out hoping to locate the Chibok girls.
“If you look at the
totality of all our operations, almost 60 percent of the total hours we have
flown in the North East are dedicated to Intelligence, Surveillance and
Reconnaissance.”
Abubakar added that the best way to locate not only the
Chibok girls but many other Nigerians that are in captivity was through
intelligence gathering.
