The South-West Progressive Youths and People’s Movement, has
called on concerned stakeholders to make a former governor of Lagos State, Bola
Ahmed Tinubu chairman of the All Progressives Congress’ Board of Trustees
(BoT).
The group said the name ‘APC National Leader’ is “a mere
title or nickname,” being conferred on Tinubu and does not have any office in
the party.
They also lamented that Asiwaju Tinubu had not been treated
well by the ruling party despite his contribution in bringing the current
administration into power.
According to the National coordinator of the group, Comrade
Ajayi Taiwo, they were unhappy with the way, which Tinubu, “our last man
standing and a ‘chancellor of university of politics’ in Nigeria has been
treated.”
He said. “The present administration will be two years in
office in less than one and half months, and up till date, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,
who humbly sacrificed his political ambition and put all necessary machinery in
motion is still addressed as national leader.”
The group also said that in the spirit of fair play and
federal character, the BOT chairman should come from the South West and that
Tinubu was the right heir
