Some 3,433 aircraft and 170,150 passengers have gone through
Kaduna International Airport in the past 35 days.
That's how long it has been in use as substitute for Abuja
International Airport undergoing runway repairs.
Kaduna airport manager Amina Ozi-Salami revealed the figures
when a group named Kaduna Integrity gave awards to some organizations that
contributed to the success of operations of the airport during the period.
An average 101 aircraft and 4,861 passengers have gone
through the airport each day.
Rides on the Abuja-to-Kaduna train also carried 18,794
passengers from March 8 to 29—that's 21
round trips.
"With this development, Kaduna International Airport
will never go back to its former status again because some foreign airlines
have indicated their intention to continue flying from Kaduna to their
destinations so as to make passengers from the North-West, North-East and North-Central
have closer departure point.
