STOP PRESS: AKWA IBOM STATE MOURNS.

(They went to Church and the final bell rang)

Tragedy struck today at Reigners Bible Church Uyo, Akwa Ibom State at the consecration of their General overseer as Bishop. About 150 persons died instantly when the church building collapsed.

The state governor who attended the occasion narrowly escaped death.

The pictures are gory and terrible , I won't post them here in order to mess up your mental picture. I will post few without human corpses.

We pray for our brothers and families and the good people of Akwa Ibom State as they mourn their departed ones.

This is not the time to apportion blames, but there is need for caution especially on the materials used for building projects in different parts of the country.

PASTORAL CONSOLATION :

Man, that is born of a woman, hath but a short time to live, and full of misery. He cometh up, and is cut down, like a flower; he fleeth as it were a shadow, and never continueth in one stay.

In the midst of life we are in death; of whom may seek for succour, but of thee, O Lord, who for our sins art justly displeased?

Yet, O Lord God most holy, O Lord most mighty, O holy and most merciful Saviour, deliver us not into the bitter pains of eternal death.

Thou knowest ,Lord, the secrets of our hearts; shut not thy merciful ears to our prayer; but spare us, Lord most holy,O God most mighty ,O holy and most merciful Saviour, thou most worthy judge eternal, suffer us not, at our last hour, for any pains of death, to fall from thee.

To The Dead:
I heard a voice from heaven, saying, Write, From henceforth blessed are the dead who die in the Lord :even so saith the Spirit; for they rest from their labours. Rev. 14:13.

#I STAND WITH AKWA IBOM STATE.
